GOOD SAMARITAN THRIFT STORE / FOOD PANTRY, 128 MILL STREET, PO BOX 389, HILLSBORO, WI 54634. (608) 489-3627
Attention food distribution clients. This month on each Thursday from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm The Good Samaritan Thrift Store / Food Pantry with the help of Vernon County Coulee Cap, Inc. and Second harvest of Madison, will offer the following items from its food pantry--
Food items that will be available each month will include different cereals--boxed and bagged, canned vegetables (corn, peas, beans, etc.), good variety of soups, baked goods (breads, bakery, etc.), frozen items (meat, chicken, etc.), dairy products, onions, potatoes, sandwich meats, pizzas (large and small), bottled water and juices of all kinds. At times there will be desserts including pudding, ice cream, plus many more items to help make your meals more healthy and cost saving.
Note that these items will be bagged and ready for your pickup on Thursdays. One food bag per store visit will be offered with a total of two (2) bags per month per family.
Food items may vary from month to month due to increased volumes of area clients as well as lack of needed support from our food suppliers.
Good news. The USDA Emergency Food Assistance Program has increased its eligibility certifications. Now anyone in the Hillsboro area, having a monthy income less than $1,436.00 for one person, $1,926.00 for two people, $2,416.00 for three people, $2,907.00 for four people, $3,397.00 for five people in a household, can receive the USDA monthly food pantry items from the "Good Samaritan." If your family size is more than five, please inquire at the store regarding the income level.
The Good Samaritan Thrift Store / Food Pantry is governed by a board of directors under the auspices of the First Congregational Church of Hillsboro and the Vernon County Human Services Agency.
Any questions can be directed to the store at (608) 489-3627 on Thursdays from 1--4 pm or at the Church at (608) 489-2492 any time.
